What are CECs and where can I find them?
As an AusREP with Fitness Australia, you're committed to industry standards and ongoing professional development.
Continuing education helps advance your career by improving your existing skills, or developing new ones. Your ongoing professional development involves completing 20 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) every two years, in order to maintain your registration.
Continuing Education Credits (CECs) are the units used to measure continuing education. CECs are allocated according to the quality and duration of an education program or event. Those that include an assessment of knowledge and skill gained will have higher CECs.
Fitness Australia approves over 600 CEC programs and events offered by educational institutions and professional organisations.
How to find CEC programs and events
CECs can be gained through programs and events, workshops and seminars, conferences and conventions, higher education, self-directed learning, in-house training and other activities.
You can choose from over 600 CEC programs and events Australia-wide, listed in the CEC Directory.
Other CEC Activities
You may also be able to obtain CECs from other activities recognised or provided within Australia. CECs are applicable to the below education activities because they have relevance to exercise professional practice and align with and support the AusREP Scope of Practice.
Refer to Fitness Australia's CEC Guidelines for the following eligible education activities:
*Refer to Fitness Australia's CEC System Guidelines for further details including the evidence you are required to retain for audit and insurance purposes.
